IMCC appointed again for the supply of new RTG Cranes for Chittagong Port Authority

IMCC is pleased to announce that its subsidiary company Trans Gulf Port Cranes L.L.C ( TGPC)  has received Notification of Award ( NOA) from Chittagong Port Authority on 21st January 2021 for the provision of 5 numbers of Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes ( RTG’s ) for CCT ( Lot 1) with spare parts, tools, accessories and relates services . The Port of Chittagong in Bangladesh is the oldest, largest and most historically important sea-port located on the bank of the Karnaphuli river. The port has very ambitious plans for expansion with two new container terminals in the works.

 

To be executed on the lump sum basis, the scope of work includes Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Load out, Shipment to Chittagong Port, Load In and Commissioning of  Cranes at the Chittagong Port.

This complements and builds on the repeat order from the Chittagong port following successful execution of similar 3 numbers of RTG Cranes in 2020 which are currently working seamlessly to the highest level of satisfaction of the port authority. Finalization of the Contract is expected to be completed shortly which will allow IMCC to proceed with the project execution with the delivery scheduled for completion within 3rd quarter of 2021. 

 

The RTG’s on order are 16-wheel machines with a lifting capacity of 40 LT, lifting1-over-6 high and 6-plus-truck lane wide. Each RTG weigh 180 Tons and equipped with the latest state of the art Drive Technology. In addition to that the machines will be equipped with Active Load Control System which eliminates container sway to increase container handling performance. Machines will also be equipped with Diesel Fuel Saver Technology and safety-enhancing feature Stack Collision Prevention. The variable speed diesel engines also help reduce running costs and emissions.
